Arturo has a wide variety of experience in higher education including faculty development, curriculum development, instructional design, and instructional technology. He can develop, implement, and assess programs, events, and resources for new and experienced staff and faculty. Through this work, Arturo promotes personal and professional growth and life-long learning. He has worked in higher education for 18+ years as a IT Technician, Curriculum Coordinator, Instructional Designer, and Faculty Development Specialist, Instructional Technologist, and LMS administrator and has over 10 years experience in faculty development and training.


Born in Fort Worth, Texas, Arturo earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems from the University of Texas at Arlington, a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, Las Colinas Campus, and an Ed.D. in Higher Education from Southern Methodist University.


Arturo currently serves as an eLearning instructional designer and adjunct instructor for Tarrant County College Connect Campus. He is also a member/co-founder of the award-winning Mexican folk group Mariachi de Oro.


Arturo’s professional interests include organizational development, AI in education, open educational resources, learner-centered instruction, online and blended learning, strengths-based development, and faculty development.
