02 Mar Formspring Me
I came across an interesting website the other day that I thought could have some instructional uses. Formspring Me will allow you to setup a personal page for anyone to send you questions. A quick account setup (you can also use your existing Facebook account to login), a personal URL is created, and you are ready to begin taking questions. The questions can be submitted anonymously or with user information. When you log in, Formspring Me places all the submitted questions in an Inbox cue with new ones highlighted much like your email. You can delete, move, or only answer the questions you want. Only the answered questions will post to the public URL side of your Formspring Me page.
Immediately, I thought this could be useful for instructors during the semester to entertain content-specific questions to be used during a review session. Some other possible uses that come to mind are FAQs, a “get to know your classmates” activity, and possibly a forum for students to ask questions during an in-class guest speaker where you serve as the moderator. What are some of your thoughts?
I will continue to explore this tool but in the meantime, feel free to Formspring me at http://www.formspring.me/agozuna.
